This video is about how to choose the best lawn fertilizer for your lawn or grass in Phoenix. Many different options can be found at any local nursery, Lowes, or Home Depot. Many brands have products that specialize in season and/or in turf.
There are three main ingredients that are shown on each bag like you see here in the video:
- Nitrogen
- Phosphorus
- Potassium
Nitrogen is what primarily stimulates growth so you definitely want to make sure you have some nitrogen in the fertilizer you choose. Phosphorus is great for new root stimulation. Potassium is great for root hardiness to handle the extreme frost or heat.
Iron is also very good to help green up the yard without stimulating growth which is why we always recommend purchasing a product that also has iron. Many starter fertilizers will have heavy amounts of Phosphorus to stimulate new root growth for when you first put down seed and the turf starts getting established.
