DIY- Turf Fertilizer For Your Lawn In Phoenix
Is your lawn looking stressed or yellow? Maybe there are some dead spots that you want filled in? To green up and increase growth to your grass, it’s best to add a granular turf fertilizer to your lawn. As a homeowner, you can pick up all the supplies you need at your local hardware store. Here is what you will need:

After acquiring these products or something similar you will want to read the directions to make certain you are using the product to its fullest potential. Some fertilizer products also have some careful instructions like keep away from swimming pools or other helpful instructions.
When trying to figure out how much product to use, find out how many square feet you have and how many square feet does the fertilizer cover. If you have 2500 square feet of turf and the fertilizer bag covers up to 5000 square feet then you have 2 applications and know that you can use half of the bag of fertilizer.
After confirming how much fertilizer to use, adjust the fertilizer application rate to the percentage recommended on the bag. If you need to water the lawn before the application you will also want to do that. After you start spreading, If you find that the fertilizer is not coming out fast enough and will require too many passes on the yard, go ahead and increase the amount of fertilizer the spreader allows out of the hole in the bottom. Once you apply the fertilizer, go ahead and run the entire sprinkler system to water the granular fertilizer into the ground.
You should expect to see results within a few weeks of the application.
