Yard Care in Phoenix and Glendale AZ

Growing and Caring of Red Bird of Paradise in Phoenix

The Red Bird of Paradise, often referred to as the Mexican Bird of Paradise, is one of several easy plants and shrubs that you can use in Phoenix for your desert garden.

The blooms from the Red Bird of Paradise are actually orange and yellow.  The shrubs do best in full sun and usually grow up to be about six (6) feet tall and about six (6) feet in diameter. We usually cut these back by about 2/3 of the shrubs size and only leave about 1/3 of the plant and that usually only leaves a few stumps in February. These plants are usually full grown again within 90 days after cutting them back.  The shrubs are great to fill in their spaces for cover walls and backyards.
