Here in the Phoenix area when we get frost in the cooler months of the Winter you will want to cover up your plants or young trees. Young plants and young trees are most susceptible to frost as well as non-native shrubs here in the valley. Also, areas of the yard that do not protect the landscaping may be targets for protection whenever the temperature gets below 35 degrees at night. You can use a sheet to cover the tops of these plants to protect them from nighttime frost and it is better if you can take the sheet off during the day, however, it is not required until we get through the cooler days that usually do not go for very many consecutive days in a row.
