Phoenix Spring Time Shrub Trimming & Pruning:
The beginning of Spring is the best time to cut back shrubs for new growth. In fact, any time after the 15th of February is usually safe since Phoenix does not typically have nights with temperatures below freezing which can harm shrubs. Usually we recommend to cut back lantanas, birds of paradise, yellow bells and other frost sensitive plants that will grow back quickly in the Spring. However, if you’re trying to decrease the size of a bush, this is the optimum time to do it so you get immediate growth and at the least harmful time for the plant.
