It’s the beginning of Spring time, and you may have noticed these beautiful blooming Hong Kong Orchid Trees in Phoenix (botanical name is Bauhinia Blakeana). These trees are great and are more common in central Phoenix because they can sometimes be difficult to grow in the beginning. They are not native to North America but do better in the humid climates with our warmer temperatures. Here is a bio-link from the University of Florida:
They do have a beautiful bloom and grow to be 20-40 feet tall with a canopy between 20-25 feet. They require 2-3 (2 gallon/hour) emitters daily for about 1-1.5 hours for the first 30-90 days, then you can do the normal tree watering depending on the season.

With the temps consistently hitting the 90's, here is our recommended watering schedule. #lawncare
