The City of Scottsdale is currently offering a limited-time rebate for water-saving landscape conversions, and if you’ve been thinking about removing your turf, now’s the time to act.
What’s the Rebate About?
Scottsdale is offering up to $2 per square foot of grass you remove—up to a total of $5,000 per property—when you replace your water-thirsty turf with low-water-use landscaping, such as rock or desert-adapted plants. This is part of the city’s effort to conserve water and promote sustainable landscape practices in the greater Phoenix area.
Important Details:
- 🏡 You must be a Scottsdale Water customer
- 📅 You must apply and get pre-approval before removing your grass
- 🪪 Application deadline: October 31, 2025
- 🔨 Project must be completed by Halloween 2025 (October 31)
- 📏 Leave your existing turf in place until you’re approved!
If you tear out the turf before getting approval, you risk losing your eligibility for the rebate.
